Privacy policy
Your information, plainly explained.
Effective 23 October 2026 · Gate83 is operated by BoardingAI
This policy explains what information Gate83 collects when you use the website and the research workspace, why, and what you can do about it.
1.Who we are
Gate83 (gate83.com) is a synthetic audience research service operated by BoardingAI (“we”, “us”). We decide how the personal information described here is used. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@gate83.com.
2.What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and password (stored only in hashed form by our sign-in provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Workspace content: workspace names and the people you invite, the client websites you add, your research questions, project settings, notes and the reports we produce for you.
- Research recordings: when a project runs, our browser worker visits the website pages you specify and records screenshots, page text excerpts, the actions taken and timings. These show your website, not you.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and error and security logs, plus basic visit statistics collected by our hosting provider.
- Messages you send us, and, once online payment is offered, payment details handled directly by our payment provider (we do not see or store full card numbers).
Gate83's travelers are synthetic personas. They are not real people, and we do not build them from personal information about real individuals.
3.How we use it
- To create and secure your account and workspace, and to let you sign in.
- To run the research you request and produce your reports.
- To send service emails, such as sign-in links and “your report is ready”.
- To provide support, prevent abuse, fix problems and keep the service secure.
- To bill for projects, keep business records and meet legal obligations.
4.AI processing
Browser journeys are guided by AI models, and consolidated reports are drafted by AI from the recorded steps. To do this, the relevant project content (your questions, traveler profiles, page text and screenshots from the website being tested) is sent to AI model providers, such as OpenAI and Google, through our service providers, under their business terms. We do not sell your content or use it to advertise to you.
5.Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who run Gate83 for us: website hosting, database and sign-in (Lovable Cloud), AI model providers, email delivery and, when offered, payment processing. They may use it only to provide their services to us.
- People in your workspace, who can see its projects, recordings and reports.
- Authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety and security.
- A buyer or successor if BoardingAI or Gate83 is sold or reorganized, under this policy.
6.Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember interface choices, such as your selected workspace and whether the sidebar is open. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing data.
7.How long we keep it
We keep account and workspace information while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account or a workspace, we delete it from our live systems within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or security reasons. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.
8.Security
Information is encrypted in transit. Each workspace is isolated so only its members can reach its data, and research screenshots are stored privately. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you as the law requires.
9.Your choices and rights
You can update your details in your account, and you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to stop a particular use of it, by emailing privacy@gate83.com. Depending on where you live (for example Colorado, California or the European Union), you may have further rights under local law, including the right to appeal our decision or to complain to a regulator. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Where EU or UK law applies, we rely on our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, your consent where we ask for it, and our legal obligations.
10.International transfers
Gate83 is run from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
11.Children
Gate83 is a business service for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12.Changes
We will post any changes here with a new effective date, and tell account holders about significant changes by email. See also our terms of service.
